We have been treated to some fantastic racing action at Goodwood this week, but the fun has not stopped yet, as we have another excellent card to look forward to on Day 4.

There are another eight races to sink your teeth into on Friday and chief among them is the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes, which should be blisteringly fast.

Here is everything you need to know about Day 4 of Glorious Goodwood, including our expert's best bet of the day, each-way fancy and a tantalising treble.

Day 4 - Key info

First race: 13:50 Goodwood Handicap Feature race: 15:35 King George Qatar Stakes

The action gets underway with the longest race of the week, the Goodwood Handicap (13:50), which is run over an extended 2m4f and it’ll be a fascinating test.

Group 3 action is next up, in the shape of the Thoroughbred Stakes (14:25), and there are some useful three-year-old milers amongst the field, including St James's Palace Stakes third Talk Of New York and an eye-catching Irish raider for Joseph O'Brien.

Up next is the Golden Mile (15:00) and we are well set for another competitive renewal. One of the fastest 5f races in the country, the King George Qatar Stakes (15:35) will be fast and furious, with the intriguing Bentinck Conditions Stakes (16:15) following soon after.

There is also a valuable Nursery (16:45), a 1m3f handicap (17:20) and the card closes out with an interesting handicap for fillies and mares (17:55).

Best bet of the day

Rumstar to win the King George Qatar Stakes (15:35) @ 4/1 with LiveScore Bet

Jonathan Portman's RUMSTAR seems to get better with age and he has developed into a smart sprinter at Listed and Group 3 level over.

Second to Night Raider in the Palace House Stakes on seasonal debut, he only just failed to catch the winner on that occasion.

He is a previous course winner, having landed the 6f nursery which takes place later on the card as a two-year-old, but his best form has come over the minimum trip.

The form of his Group 3 success at Sandown last time out suggests he has every chance here.

Best each-way bet of the day

English Oak each-way in the Golden Mile (15:00) @ 40/1 with LiveScore Bet

Recent history suggests that a low draw is a big help in this race, with eight of the last 10 winners having single-figure draws.

The winner came from stall 21 two years ago and the very useful ENGLISH OAK could do something similar here, despite being drawn in stall 22.

Hamad Al Jehani's six-year-old won a Royal Ascot handicap by three lengths back in 2024 and even finished second in a Listed contest three starts later.

Winning twice in Meydan over the winter, he was second at Hamilton when last seen and can run another big race here.

Day 4 acca

Accumulators always go down well with the punters, so here are three horses to consider putting into a treble, including the best bet of the day.

Bet 1: Back Talk Of New York to win the Thoroughbred Stakes (14:25) @ 4/7 with LiveScore Bet

Charlie Appleby always thrives in the summer months and TALK OF NEW YORK should prove very hard to beat now dropped in grade. He bumped into two exceptional horses when third in the St James's Palace Stakes and a similar effort will be more than enough.

Bet 2: Back Rumstar to win the King George Qatar Stakes (15:35) @ 4/1 with LiveScore Bet

RUMSTAR is already a course winner and this will be his first start here over his optimum trip. Winning a Group 3 last time out, the step back up in grade will not be a problem.

Bet 3: Back Galen to win the Bentinck Conditions Stakes (16:10) @ 7/2 with LiveScore Bet

It is hard to ignore Joseph O'Brien this season and he is enjoying an excellent campaign. Every runner he has in Britain needs to be considered and GALEN brings some strong form to the table.

Fourth in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot, he can return to winning ways here.
