Harry Kane admits Bayern Munich are enjoying their early Champions League success but know there will be tougher challenges to come.

Kane scored a late brace as Bayern beat Galatasaray 2-1 to qualify for the last 16.

The England captain continued his superb scoring form, now finding the back of the net an incredible 19 times in 15 games in all competitions this season.

Joshua Kimmich's teasing free-kick in the 80th minute was guided home by the ex-Tottenham striker before he put away Mathys Tel's pass across the box.

Kane told UEFA: "We've finished top of the group officially which is great. I think it shows where we want to be as a team.

"We had two really tough away games in Copenhagen and Galatasaray as well, so to start the group with four wins out of four and finish top already is credit to the lads and the staff.

"We can enjoy it but we know the business end is the knockout stages."

Kane, 30, suggested it was a matter of time before Bayern broke the deadlock, despite leaving it until the 80th minute at the Allianz Arena.

He added: "In the first half, we got into the final third in transition we just lacked the final pass or final finish. We knew in the second half we just had keep that momentum.

"We got into the dangerous zones well in the first half, the only thing missing was the last pass.

"We did better in the second half. I’m glad we advanced to the knockout stage.

"As a striker, I love scoring goals, being on the pitch and winning. I'm very happy to help the team and I'm happy to be here."

The win means Bayern top Group A with 12 points but second spot remains up for grabs as Galatasaray are third and level on points with Copenhagen, who stunned Manchester United 4-3.

Thomas Tuchel's side host Copenhagen on Matchday 5 before heading to Old Trafford to take on Kane's old foes United.
