A stellar field will be in attendance at the Renaissance Club for this week's Scottish Open, the second Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour.

Scottie Scheffler heads to North Berwick for the fifth time – his best finish coming in 2023 when third – and he has been installed as the 11/2 favourite with LiveScore Bet.

Rory McIlroy, champion in 2023 and runner-up last year, is available at 10/1 to become just the third player to have won this tournament more than once.

This trip north of the border will provide the perfect preparation for next week's Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in Southport, where Scheffler will be looking to successfully defend the Claret Jug.

Reitan to show his class

There are several players who look to have leading claims this week but one who stands at big odds is Kristoffer Reitan, who has taken his game to another level over the last year.

Reitan won his maiden DP World Tour title at the 2025 Soudal Open and then landed his second success at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in December.

His consistent performances on the European circuit resulted in him earning one of the PGA Tour cards on offer via the Race to Dubai standings and it has taken him little time to make his mark over in the USA.

Reitan won the Truist Championship in May, which is one of the Signature Events, and the fact he outscored the world's leading players in North Carolina bodes well for the Scottish Open.

A sharp short game is required at the Renaissance Club and the 28-year-old is third in scrambling and first in both putts per green in regulation and one-putts on the DP World Tour this season.

Reitan shared 13th position last year, a considerable improvement from his missed cut on debut at this course in 2019, and he returns for a third crack on the back of a tied-22nd effort at the Travelers Championship.

Clark to continue impressive form

Wyndham Clark is in sensational form heading into this event, with his last five results reading 1-3-T11-1-T5, and another success could be in the offing.

The American's two victories during this period came at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the US Open, his second triumph in that Major following his win in 2023.

Clark has shown a liking for links golf and he has not finished outside the top 25 in his four efforts at the Renaissance, with his form figures 16-25-10-11.

The 32-year-old, who was also tied fourth at the 2025 Open, is second in putting average and ninth in strokes gained around the green on the PGA Tour.

Irish maestro to challenge

One links specialist in this week's field is Shane Lowry, who won the 2019 Open and has one of the finest short games in the world.

The Irishman is seventh in scrambling on the DP World Tour and he has been bubbling along nicely over recent weeks, with two top-25 finishes in his last four starts.

Lowry shared 12th place on his only trip to North Berwick in 2023 and he will be eager for a strong performance leading into the Open.
