The 2025 DP World Tour season reaches its finale in Dubai this week and Rory McIlroy is the favourite as he bids to win both the tournament and a seventh season-long Race to Dubai crown.
The Northern Irishman holds a commanding Race to Dubai lead over Marco Penge, with Tyrrell Hatton the only other player capable of claiming the season-long prize this week.
The Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates is a 7,706-yard par-72 desert track, which has become the permanent home of the DP World Tour curtain closer.
While shorter hitters have contended for and won the title, it is a course where top-class drivers tend to shine and that should be the case again this week.

McIlroy could be destined for Dubai four-timer
It has been a remarkable year for McIlroy, who has claimed titles at Pebble Beach, the Players Championship, the Irish Open and, most notably, a career-Slam clinching first Masters crown and he could be set for one more big performance in Dubai.
His claims are obvious, because nobody can match his form at the Earth Course, where he has won three times – including last year's DP World Tour Championship – and added a further eight top-ten finishes.
The 36-year-old has been at his most focused on the big stages this season and he will know that a victory will guarantee he clinches a seventh Race to Dubai crown, moving him to within one of Collin Montgomerie's record of eight, when it was previously called the Order of Merit.
McIlroy's motivations are clear and he returns to his beloved Earth Course in great form after finishing the Abu Dhabi Championship with weekend rounds of 66 and 62 to share third place.

High-class Hojgaard should relish Earth test
Almost all of McIlroy's main market rivals were a part of Europe's successful Ryder Cup team, including Rasmus Hojgaard, who could throw down the gauntlet this week.
The Dane finished runner-up behind McIlroy 12 months ago, taking his Earth Course form to a new level, having previously finished seventh in 2022 and 11th in 2023.
He has three top-three finishes from his last seven worldwide starts and there was a lot to like about last week's effort at Yas Links, where he recovered from a slow start to finish 23rd at a venue which he is far less suited to than the Earth Course.

Canter holds each-way appeal
At a big each-way price, consider Laurie Canter, who is a long, straight driver who has solid Earth Course form figures of 5-27-14 to his name.
The Englishman has had an up-and-down year, but he was a winner in Bahrain in the spring and a runner-up in Korea on his penultimate DP World Tour start.
