After a three-week summer break allowed fans, drivers, and mechanics alike to reset, Formula One returns this weekend with the Dutch Grand Prix.

The drivers and teams touch down at Zandvoort and all eyes will be on the World Drivers' Championship battle, with Oscar Piastri and McLaren team-mate Lando Norris separated by just nine points at the top of the standings.

The Australian currently leads the way from Englishman Norris, while also holding an edge of six race victories to five so far this season.

The stats

Norris has never lost to his team-mate at the Dutch Grand Prix.

McLaren have won 11 of the 14 Grands Prix already raced this season and their two drivers have finished one-two in each of the last four races.

Red Bull won the first three Dutch Grands Prix after the race returned to the F1 programme in 2021, before Norris took the chequered flag 12 months ago.

Prediction

Norris maintained his momentum with a fantastic drive in Hungary heading into the 2025 F1 season's summer break, with the Briton looking a good bet to continue to narrow the gap between himself and team-mate Piastri in the championship ight.

After a difficult spell allowed Piastri to build a lead in the standings, Norris has recovered well to win three of the last four races, beating his team-mate to the chequered flag in Austria, Great Britain and Hungary.

This has reduced the gap between the two to just nine points and, with the McLaren duo the only two real contenders for the title, this weekend's race represents the perfect opportunity for Norris to pile the pressure on Piastri.

The two McLaren drivers are priced identically to take the win in the Netherlands, but Norris has a fantastic record around Zandvoort, and he can use that to build on his sky-high confidence.

The 25-year-old took his second career victory around this circuit last season, beating home hero Max Verstappen by almost 23 seconds and finishing 27 seconds ahead of his team-mate.

This ended Verstappen's run of wins at his home Grand Prix since the circuit returned to the calendar in 2021, but Norris has never lost to his team-mate at the Dutch Grand Prix, and that streak could continue on Sunday.

While Verstappen and George Russell have halted McLaren's winning streak at times this season, the papaya pair have won 11 of the 14 races so far this season and have finished first and second in each of the last four races.

Therefore, it is unlikely that any other challengers for the top spot will emerge this weekend.
