Fleetwood maintained their unbeaten record and probably shaded the contest in a 1-1 draw with a fancied Oldham outfit in midweek. They needed a late goal from substitute Ronan Coughlan to level the game up, but took a deserved share of the spoils.
Shrewsbury meanwhile, were softened up by a clinical Rochdale (0-3), while they also lost heavily (0-4) when they visited Fleetwood’s Highbury Stadium in the Carabao Cup ten days ago. It makes sense to side with the hosts again here.

Salford City vs Port Vale (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
Salford are finally up and running under new manager Peter Cklamovski following their 2-1 triumph over Newport on Tuesday. The Ammies grabbed their winner in the 90th minute through sub Kelly N’Mai, though they had 72% possession, pummelled County with 32 shots and were fully deserving of three points.
Port Vale slipped to bottom spot in the division following their dismal 3-1 loss at Swindon and now they face the prospect of facing a Salford side running on new enthusiasm. Only two clubs in League Two have been averaging fewer shots on target per game than Vale, so back them to be outgunned in Salford.

Accrington Stanley vs Crawley Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
The Accies remain winless after four games, though they have shown improvements over the past week, netting twice in a narrow loss at Walsall (2-3) before notching two goals again at home to Grimsby (2-2) on Tuesday. Stanley fought back from two down against the Mariners in midweek, which would have lifted spirits in their camp.
Crawley have claimed four points from two away assignments so far, the latest of which was secured in a 1-1 draw at ten-man Northampton on Tuesday evening. Colin Kazim-Richards’s side will kick off as underdogs here, though they drew twice with Accrington Stanley last season and they can earn parity again on Saturday.

Bristol Rovers moved to the summit of League Two with their 2-0 win over Colchester in midweek. That was the Pirates’ third successive win in the division and the third league fixture in a row where they racked up at least 24 shots. With momentum building, Rovers should be tough to stop at the Mem again here.
Rotherham are unbeaten in three, but needed a 96th-minute Tom Bradshaw penalty to rescue a draw at Tranmere on Tuesday. The Millers have played five competitive fixtures since the summer and failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those, so they might struggle against this shot-happy Rovers side.

Cheltenham Town vs Grimsby Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
A brace from winger Jake Evans helped Cheltenham to win a five-goal thriller against York in midweek and that was the fourth time in as many league fixtures involving Town that beat a target of over 2.5 goals.

Crewe Alexandra vs York City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Crewe’s unbeaten record remains intact, but only just, after Reece Hutchinson scored at the death on Tuesday evening to force a 2-2 draw with Walsall. Lee Bell’s Alexandra did muster 20 attempts against the Saddlers, however, so deserved to take something from the game.
Next up at the Mornflake Stadium are newly-promoted York, who lost for the first time since their rise when they were turned over at Cheltenham (2-3) in midweek. That was the fourth League Two fixture in a row involving York where BTTS landed and the same market appeals on Saturday.

Reece Cole’s first goal of the campaign earned Exeter a draw against high-flying Barnet in midweek, though they came within inches of netting a later winner through Gwion Edwards, before his injury-time effort was cruelly ruled out for offside.
Still, City would have gained plenty of confidence from that showing, so they should provide tricky opposition for Walsall. The Saddlers have been averaging two goals per game in League Two so far and notched twice again at Crewe in midweek (2-2). Northampton Town vs Newport County (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Northampton are still searching for their first win of the new League Two campaign, though they seemed to be on track for that elusive victory in midweek before Lee Evans’s second-half red card changed the flow of the game against Crawley (1-1).
The Cobblers have a chance to break their duck on Saturday, however. Visiting Newport conceded seven goals and 58 shots combined in their last two away tests at Bristol Rovers (5-3) and Salford (2-1), and their leakiness at the back could be their undoing again at Sixfields.

Rochdale vs Gillingham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Rochdale posted a first win of the season at Shrewsbury’s expense on Tuesday, though the final 3-0 scoreline at the Crown Oil Stadium didn’t do justice to what was a close contest. Indeed, Rochdale scored from each of their only three shots on target and they needed a Man-of-the-Match performance from keeper Nils Ramming (5) to keep the Shrews out.
The Dale are unlikely to be quite as ruthless on Saturday. Draw specialists Gillingham have tied their last three League Two fixtures, shipping just two goals along the way. Their last two matches against Northampton and Chesterfield finished 1-1 and a similar outcome could be on the cards here.

Swindon Town vs Colchester United (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Swindon bounced back well from last weekend’s convincing loss to Oldham (0-3) with a much-better showing and result at home to Port Vale (3-1) on Tuesday. Last season’s leading marksman Aaron Drinan scored his second goal of the campaign in that triumph and the 28-year-old is starting to scratch at his best form.
Despite starting with a five-man defence, Colchester couldn’t handle Bristol Rovers in midweek and conceded 24 shots in their 2-0 loss at the Memorial Stadium. That was the first time that the U’s failed to score in League Two this term however, and they can net a consolation against the Robins.

Tranmere Rovers vs Oldham Athletic (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Unbeaten Tranmere were denied a second win in four League Two matches by a 96th-minute Rotherham penalty in midweek (2-2), and that is the second time in as many games that a goal after 90 minutes denied them three points.
Still, Rovers are doing plenty of good early work under new boss Darrell Clarke and Tranmere look like dangerous underdogs again ahead of Oldham’s visit on Saturday. Athletic have played three away games in all competitions since the summer, losing twice and drawing the other, so it makes little sense to back them at Prenton Park.
