Fleetwood Town vs Rotherham United (Saturday, 12:30 pm)

Fleetwood’s winless run in League Two stands at six games following last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Walsall, though they might have snapped that streak had Saddlers’ keeper Jed Ward not been in such inspired form between the sticks for the visitors. A similar showing against Rotherham on Saturday could yield a better result.

The Millers took an early lead at home to Gillingham last time out but eventually slumped to a confidence-denting 4-1 loss. They conceded four against Bradford in the EFL Trophy a few days before that and have lost three times on the spin in all competitions overall. Rotherham’s defending has been subpar of late and Fleetwood can take advantage.

Score prediction: Fleetwood Town 2-1 Rotherham United

Shrewsbury Town vs Bristol Rovers (Saturday, 12:30 pm)

A wasteful Shrewsbury missed some good chances before conceding late on to lose at home to Exeter (1-0) last weekend, prompting manager Gavin Cowan to say that they “beat themselves” post-match. That was Salops’ first loss in five League Two assignments, though they are still down in 18th spot.

Bristol Rovers’ record winning run at home was shattered by Barnet (1-3) last week and that was their fifth loss in six fixtures in all competitions. Away from the Mem, their form has been wretched, with Rovers losing four of their five away tests in League Two since the summer. Despite all of that, the Pirates are even-money favourites here, so back the Shews double chance.

Score prediction: Shrewsbury Town 2-2 Bristol Rovers

Accrington Stanley vs Gillingham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Despite having more possession and carving out the better opportunities, Accrington Stanley had to settle for a point at Oldham (0-0) last time out, though the draw earned at Boundary Park stretched the Accies’ unbeaten run in all competitions to six games. Indeed, their only loss in nine fixtures overall came in a narrow reverse at highflying Barnet (2-1) in early September.

Gillingham meanwhile, are finally starting to live up to their pre-season billing as playoff contenders. The Gills came from behind to thump Rotherham (4-1) last weekend and they’ve claimed 13 of the last 18 points on offer across their last six games in League Two. However, nobody has beaten Stanley at Wham Stadium this term, so the spoils could be shared here.

Score prediction: Accrington Stanley 1-1 Gillingham

Colchester United vs Exeter City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Colchester almost held out for a point at Rodney Parade last weekend, though they were second best against Newport and could have few complaints when County notched their late winner. Now down in 19th spot, the U’s have gone six games in League Two without a win, however, their unbeaten record at the JobServe Community Stadium is still intact after four matches there.

Exeter made it back-to-back 1-0 wins in League Two with their narrow triumph at Shrewsbury last week. Gary Birch bagged an 86th-minute decider there to end a run of four successive defeats on the road for the Grecians. Despite that victory, City still have plenty to prove as an away force in the division, so it won’t be a surprise if they regress on their travels again on Saturday.

Score prediction: Colchester United 1-0 Exeter City

Crewe Alexandra vs Rochdale (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Crewe followed their impressive win over Bristol Rovers (3-1) with another noteworthy triumph at Swindon (1-0) last weekend and with their unbeaten record still intact after ten games of the new League Two campaign, Alexandra are handily placed in third spot, just a point from the summit.

Rochdale meanwhile, are an improving force and their 1-1 draw at Tranmer last time out moved their unbeaten surge to five games. The Dale were somewhat fortunate to leave Prenton Park with a point, however. They conceded five big chances and had their woodwork rattled twice. They are unlikely to enjoy that much luck for two games running.

Score prediction: Crewe Alexandra 2-1 Rochdale

Grimsby Town vs Northampton Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Despite a stronger second-half showing, Grimsby left Vale Park with nothing last weekend and their margin of defeat against Port Vale (1-0) could have been wider had their hosts not fluffed a string of glaring chances. The Mariners have now lost three times in a row in League Two, though they have a chance to stop the rot at Blundell Park on Saturday.

Northampton upset the odds to earn a point at York City last time out, though their hosts did have two goals ruled out for offside. Still second from bottom, the Cobblers have only won once in eight attempts in the fourth tier since their relegation and no side in the division has scored fewer goals (4). This looks like a chance for Grimsby to get back on track.

Newport County vs York City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Newport eventually made home advantage count against Colchester (1-0) last weekend, though they needed a late goal from substitute Tanatswa Nyakuhwa to get over the line. They’re back at Rodney Parade on Saturday for a tougher-looking test against ambitious York. County have yet to lose on Welsh soil this term, and they’ll back themselves to protect that record here.

York have failed to win four of their last six fixtures in League Two, and they have yet to find the recipe for victory on the road (0 wins in 4). Manager Scott Lindsey said his team must “do better” following last weekend’s 1-1 draw with struggling Northampton, however, more disappointment could be on the cards when they cross the border into Wales.

Score prediction: Newport County 1-1 York City

Oldham Athletic vs Cheltenham Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Manager Micky Mellon would have been pleased with Oldham’s first clean sheet since the end of August, though last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Accrington was still another misstep for struggling Athletic. The Latics are without a win in six league assignments now and failed to score in three of their last five matches in the division.

Cheltenham meanwhile, were a match for Salford last time out before Ben Stevenson’s red card tipped the balance in the Ammies’ favour. Town eventually lost 2-0, but could take plenty of positives from the performance that preceded the dismissal. Cheltenham have lost only one of their last four away contests in League Two and if they can maintain their discipline, they can leave Oldham with at least a point.

Score prediction: Oldham Athletic 1-2 Cheltenham Town

Port Vale vs Chesterfield (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Port Vale seem to have turned a corner and last weekend’s well-earned 1-0 win over Grimsby was their second home victory in a row. After the game, manager Jon Brady said his players must “keep that belief going” and another positive result at Vale Park against Chesterfield on Saturday would help momentum to build.

Chesterfield blew a two-goal lead at bottom-club Crawley last weekend, much to the frustration of boss Paul Cook. Still, the Spireites goal threat was evident again and only Barnet (20) have outscored Chesterfield (17) in the campaign’s opening exchanges. With attackers Lee Bonis and Louie Marsh in fine form, the visitors can leave the Potteries with something.

Score prediction: Port Vale 1-1 Chesterfield

Salford City vs Crawley Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

A late double from Jorge Grant kept Salford on track against ten-man Cheltenham last weekend and maintained the Ammie’s position at the top of the division. City have won four league fixtures in a row and six of their last seven matches in L2 overall and they look well-equipped to keep the good results coming at Crawley’s expense.

The visitors clawed their way back from two down to earn parity at home to Chesterfield (2-2) last time out, though Crawley haven’t won a league fixture since August. They’ve also conceded 2+ goals in each of their last four League Two runouts, so it’s difficult to see how they can match a buoyant Salford here.

Score prediction: Salford City 3-0 Crawley Town

Swindon Town vs Walsall (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

The pressure has cranked up even further on under-fire Swindon boss Ian Holloway following last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Crewe. That was the Robins’ sixth defeat in seven matches in league and cup, and the fifth time they failed to score during the same rotten run. With goals proving hard to come by, a meeting with League Two’s joint-best defence on Saturday is far from ideal scheduling.

Walsall have yet to lose in the league this term and they’ve conceded only six goals in nine games combined in the fourth tier. A return of six draws from those nine matches is a source of frustration for the Saddlers, however, a sixth clean sheet of the campaign on Saturday could provide a winning platform.

Score prediction: Swindon Town 0-1 Walsall

Back Under 2.5 Goals in Swindon Town vs Walsall at 11/10 with LiveScore Bet

Tranmere Rovers vs Barnet (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Darrell Clarke’s Tranmere have only lost twice in ten League Two fixtures since the summer, however, they are currently in the midst of a five-match winless slump in the division. Rovers have scored just once in each of their last three home games in league and cup, with the latest coming in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Rochdale at Prenton Park.

Barnet have had no such goal-scoring issues. The Bees ended Bristol Rovers’ lengthy winning streak at the Memorial Stadium (3-1) last time out and that was the third time in four league matches where Barnet notched 3+ times. In Charlie Lakin and Kabongo Tshimanga, Barnet have two form forwards in attack and they could outscore Tranmere on Merseyside.
