New Barrow boss Dino Maamria will be hoping to make it two wins from two when his team faces Harrogate on Tuesday evening.
Cambridge are targeting a third victory on the spin when they take on Colchester at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.
Grimsby have a nine-game unbeaten streak in League Two to protect when they lock horns with an out-of-form Walsall.
League Two returns with another bumper 12-game midweek schedule, with 11 fixtures from England’s fourth tier lined up for Tuesday evening and one more contest given a Wednesday evening slot a day later.
Automatic promotion candidates Swindon will be searching for a bounce-back win at Barnet, while leaders Bromley will be aiming to consolidate their position at the summit with a victory over Cheltenham. Beyond that, there is so much more for us to sink our teeth into.
To that end, we’ve assembled predictions for each of the 12 League Two games on the midweek card below.
Barnet vs Swindon (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Barnet were frustrated in their attempts to beat a dogged Cheltenham (0-0) on Saturday, though that stalemate did extend the club’s unbeaten surge, which now stands at six games. An improving Barnet should provide a decent test for a Swindon side who wobbled at Shrewsbury (1-3) last time out and a share of the spoils might be on the cards again here.
Score prediction: Barnet 1-1 Swindon
Barrow vs Harrogate (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
New hire Dino Maamria enjoyed the perfect start to his Barrow career in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Colchester and Tunisian coach could make it two victories from two on Tuesday. Visiting Harrogate dug out a point at ten-man Chesterfield at the weekend, having weathered an early storm, though they haven’t won an away game since the end of September.
Score prediction: Barrow 1-0 Harrogate
Bromley vs Cheltenham (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Bromley struggled to break down a resolute Notts County (1-1) on Saturday and scored from their only shot on target. Still, the League Two table toppers should have more than enough class to see off a Cheltenham side that has lost four of its last five league fixtures. Bromley have home advantage to harness and should be comfortable.
Score prediction: Bromley 2-0 Cheltenham
Cambridge vs Colchester (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Cambridge are firmly in the title hunt following impressive back-to-back wins over Crawley (3-0) and Bristol Rovers (3-0), and they can add more fuel to their pursuit of top spot with a third successive victory on Tuesday. Colchester have lost each of their last two on the road, failing to score on each occasion, so they are unlikely to offer much resistance.
Score prediction: Cambridge 3-0 Colchester
Chesterfield vs Gillingham (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Chesterfield played Harrogate a man light for the last 30 minutes following the sending off of Lee Bonis, however, they would have still been disappointed with their eventual 1-1 draw against the division’s worst team. Still, they can bounce back here against a Gillingham outfit that has lost three of its last four assignments.
Score prediction: Chesterfield 1-0 Gillingham
Crewe vs Fleetwood (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
A return of three wins and three clean sheets from four League Two fixtures has pushed Crewe to within touching distance of the playoff positions and their fine form could continue on Tuesday. Their opponents, Fleetwood, have won only once in nine attempts since Christmas and confidence in their camp is at a low ebb. Back Crewe to triumph again.
Score prediction: Crewe 1-0 Fleetwood
MK Dons vs Crawley (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
MK Dons threatened to run riot against bottom club Newport on Saturday when they scored after just one minute, though they couldn’t add to their early advantage and had to settle for a narrow victory (1-0). Still, the Dons are in red-hot form, claiming 16 of the last 18 points on offer in League Two and they should be too good for struggling Crawley.
Score prediction: MK Dons 2-0 Crawley
Oldham vs Bristol Rovers (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Bristol Rovers conceded six goals in back-to-back losses to Chesterfield (2-3) and Cambridge (1-3) in their last two league matches and the Pirates need something to steady the ship. Oldham meanwhile, have lost only two of their last six home fixtures, though they drew two of their last four at Boundary Park and they might have to settle for another point here.
Score prediction: Oldham 1-1 Bristol Rovers
Salford vs Newport (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Salford gave a decent account of themselves in their 2-0 FA Cup Fourth Round loss to Manchester City at the weekend, and that showing should give them confidence to take into Tuesday’s meeting with bottom club Newport. Salford won August’s reverse meeting between the clubs 1-0 in Wales, though they can post a result with an improved scoreline in Tuesday’s rematch.
Score prediction: Salford 2-0 Newport
Shrewsbury vs Notts County (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Shrewsbury produced one of their best performances of the campaign so far when they beat automatic promotion contenders Swindon (3-1) on Saturday and they will be determined to land more counter punches against Notts County (4th). The visitors’ six-game winning burst came to an end at leaders Bromley (1-1) last time out, though forewarned by Shrewsbury’s efforts against Swindon, the Magpies can get back to winning ways.
Score prediction: Shrewsbury 1-2 Notts County
Tranmere vs Accrington (Tuesday, 19:45pm)
Tranmere posted a much-needed win over Crawley on Saturday (2-0) to snap a six-game losing run, though Rovers should find toppling Accrington more difficult. The Accies were second best at Grimsby at the weekend (0-1), however, that was only their second loss in eight away assignments in League Two, and they can grind out at least a point at Prenton Park.
Score prediction: Tranmere 1-1 Accrington
Grimsby vs Walsall (Wednesday, 19:45pm)
Grimsby’s FA Cup adventure was ended by Wolves on Sunday (0-1), though they return to League Two action in good form on Wednesday. The Mariners have won six and drawn three of their last nine games in the division, in a run stretching back to before Christmas, and Grimsby look well-equipped to beat a Walsall side whose spirits have been dampened by a five-game winless dip.
Score prediction: Grimsby 1-0 Walsall
