League One actions returns in midweek with a full 12-game fixture slate on February 17 & 18
  • In-form Mansfield, who have won four of their last six league games, host poor travellers Wycombe at the One Call Stadium.

  • Table-topping Cardiff could extend their four-point lead with the right result at relegation contenders Burton Albion.

  • Northampton are aiming to end a seven-game winless run when they welcome Reading to the Sixfields Stadium.

There is a full 18-game fixture programme from League One to look forward to on Saturday, 31 January, with two lunchtime matches kicking things off, including automatic-promotion contenders Bolton’s trip to AFC Wimbledon.

Elsewhere, leaders Cardiff travel to Burton and bottom club Port Vale visit Leyton Orient, while new Huddersfield boss Liam Manning has a 100% winning record to protect when Town take on Peterborough in his third game in charge.

AFC Wimbledon vs Bolton (Saturday, 12:30pm)

AC Wimbledon have won only once in their last 13 attempts in League One and they have failed to score in each of their last four matches on home soil.

Promotion-chasing Bolton are unbeaten in four games meanwhile, and were solid enough to keep clean sheets in each of their last two away tests at Stevenage and Wigan.

Score prediction: AFC Wimbledon 0-1 Bolton

Bradford vs Doncaster (Saturday, 12:30pm)

Graham Alexander’s Bradford are in wobbly form, having suffered defeats in four of their last five games, though a tough gauntlet of fixtures explains a lot there.

The Bantams could get their playoff push back on track against Doncaster. Rovers have failed three of their last four away tests, while only four clubs in League One have conceded more goals on the road in total.

Score prediction: Bradford 2-1 Doncaster

Northampton vs Reading (Saturday, 3pm)

Northampton lost for the third time in a row when they were outplayed by Rotherham in midweek, giving manager Kevin Nolan plenty to ponder ahead of another tricky tie against Reading on Saturday.

The Royals conceded an injury-time equaliser in a 2-2 draw at home to Exeter on Tuesday, though they have lost only once in eight League One outings overall, and they should be worth at least a point at the Sixfields Stadium.

Score prediction: Northampton 1-1 Reading

Barnsley vs Stevenage (Saturday, 3pm)

Stevenage snapped an eight-game winless streak with a 1-0 win over Peterborough on Tuesday, though they failed to earn a single point in any of their last three away matches. Barnsley have scored at least twice in four of their last five games at Oakwell, so they could outgun Borough here.

Score prediction: Barnsley 2-0 Stevenage

Burton vs Cardiff (Saturday, 3pm)

Burton’s 2-1 defeat to Bolton in midweek was their fifth loss in six League One fixtures and in rotten form, they could struggle again when they host league-leading Cardiff. The Bluebirds were in front inside three minutes and romped to a 4-0 win over Barnsley on Tuesday and their superior class should tell against Albion.

Score prediction: Burton Albion 1-2 Cardiff

Exeter vs Rotherham (Saturday, 3pm)

In-form Exeter rescued a point in added time at Reading in midweek (2-2) and buoyed by that late show, City might have the edge over Rotherham. The visiting Millers enjoyed a 2-1 win at home to Northampton on Tuesday, but they have lost each of their last four away matches in the third tier.

Score prediction: Exeter 3-1 Rotherham

Leyton Orient vs Port Vale (Saturday, 3pm)

Orient are one of the league’s worst travellers and were beaten on the road again by Doncaster (0-3) in midweek, however, they have lost just three times in 11 games at the BetWright Stadium, and they could harness home advantage again when they host bottom-club Port Vale.

Score prediction: Leyton Orient 1-0 Port Vale

Luton vs Blackpool (Saturday, 3pm)

Luton looked short on ideas when they lost 1-0 at Huddersfield in midweek, despite playing with a one-man advantage for an hour. The Hatters are unbeaten in eight League One games at Kenilworth Road however, winning three of the last four of those, and they can see off struggling Blackpool.

Score prediction: Luton 2-1 Blackpool

Mansfield vs Wycombe (Saturday, 3pm)

Mansfield are on the up and their 1-1 draw at Plymouth on Tuesday extend their unbeaten run in League One to six games. Town (12th) could jump as many as four places with the right result on Saturday, and they’ll fancy their chances against a Wycombe side that has failed to win 11 out of 13 away fixtures since the start of the campaign.

Score prediction: Mansfield 1-0 Wycombe

Peterborough vs Huddersfield (Saturday, 3pm)

New boss Liam Manning has made a dramatic start to his Huddersfield career and has seen his team win each of his first two matches in charge with ten men (vs Bradford and Luton). Peterborough didn’t register a single shot on target in their 1-0 loss to Stevenage in midweek and they could hit another brick wall against the spirited Terriers.

Score prediction: Peterborough 0-1 Huddersfield

Stockport vs Plymouth (Saturday, 3pm)

Stockport looked dangerous when they mustered 22 attempts in their 2-1 win over an ordinary Blackpool outfit on Tuesday evening, though Plymouth should provide more of a challenge. Argyle have won 60% of their last ten games in League One, losing just once along the way, and they could earn a share of the spoils at Edgeley Park.

Score prediction: Stockport 1-1 Plymouth

Wigan vs Lincoln (Saturday, 3pm)

Wigan will be relieved to back at home having played four away fixtures back-to-back, however, their chances of beating Lincoln feel slim. The Imps played with the swagger of title contenders in their 3-0 victory over Bradford in midweek and they haven’t lost a game in League One since November 22nd. A seventh win in nine matches could be in the offing for Lincoln.

Score prediction: Wigan 1-2 Lincoln
