Watch: Tavares & Pinamonti Open Lazio Accounts at Monza’s Expense – The Highlights

At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Lazio climbed to second place in the table after beating Monza by three goals to one.

Lazio Score Twice in the First Half

Gennaro Gattuso’s men didn’t waste any time, seizing the lead in the third minute through an absolute rocket from Nuno Tavares, who finally opened his scoring account for the club. 20 minutes later, Tijjani Noslin produced another assist, this time setting up Gustav Isaksen, whose first-time shot curled past the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.

Monza Retaliated After the Break

The visitors lost Lorenzo Lucchesi, who received his marching orders in the 34th minute after pulling down Noslin while being the last defender. Nevertheless, his replacement, Saba Goglichidze, pulled one back for the Biancorossi after the interval, nodding it from close range. Dany Mota then wasted a golden chance to equalise for Monza, as Christos Mandas somehow kept out his shot.

Andrea Pinamonti Secured the Win for Lazio

In the final 15 minutes, Lazio retook the initiative, but Mattia Zaccagni’s curler was stopped by Noel Tornqvist, while the post denied Isaksen a personal brace. Nevertheless, Andrea Pinamonti sealed the win with his first goal for the Aquile with a simple and clinical touch after being set up by fellow substitute Alfonso Pedraza.
