Watch: Moreira provides three contributions on dream Milan derby debut vs. Inter – the highlights

Diego Moreira’s first experience of the Derby della Madonnina was a positive one, thanks to a stunning performance from AC Milan’s summer signing.

Three goals on your derby debut is enough to enter your name into folklore. His first appearance for Milan led to questions about the signing of Moreira. Yet, he’s silenced them almost every week since, with this weekend’s performance bringing up new questions.

Questions about his quality are being asked again, and it’s still about the money spent, with that €50 million price tag looking rather low. However, it’s worth noting that he’s already closer to getting Strasbourg another few million.

Indeed, a clause for 10 goals and assists in any season – included in his arrival – would entitle them to another €2m. With last night’s additions, he’s now on seven in Serie A.

The highlights

In terms of the game itself, Milan were dominant for large periods, with Ruben Amorim getting it spot on tactically. Indeed, the Portuguese worked with the tools he had available and managed to earn a huge win against the Nerazzurri.

It’s clear that it will have a knock-on effect too, with talk of the title already emerging.
