Trio step up but forwards fail again: Player ratings for Sassuolo-Milan from Italian papers
AC Milan and Sassuolo played out a 1-1 draw as Serie A action returned after the break, but it leaves a bitter feeling.
Milan took the lead in the 63rd minute when Adrien Rabiot thundered home a feed from Luka Modric down the left edge of the box. Yet, Ruben Amorim’s side could not hold onto the lead for long as Odenthal levelled from a corner, and in the end the two sides would have to settle for a point apiece.
Sassuolo 1-1 AC Milan: Ratings from the papers
This morning’s newspapers in Italy have their ratings from the match at the Mapei Stadium, one which yielded a third draw in three league games for Amorim and his side, with all three of them coming away from home.
La Gazzetta dello Sport gave the overall performance and Amorim’s management of the game a 5.5 out of 10. The best performer was Rabiot who got a 7, while Samuel Chukwueze struggled the most and was handed a 5.
There were a number of passing score given out: Mario Gila, Strahinja Pavlovic, Yunus Musah, Diego Moreira, Christian Pulisic, Koni De Winter, Luka Modric and Alphadjo Cisse all got a 6.
The only players to veer from that were Mike Maignan (6.5), Pervis Estupinan and Goncalo Ramos (5.5s) in what was a night where few stood up to make themselves counted.
Corriere dello Sport gave out a 6.5 to Maignan, a 7 to Gila, a 6.5 to Rabiot and a 6.5 to Modric. They were not impressed by the performances of Estupinan (5.5), Chukwueze (5.5), Pulisic (5), Musah (5.5), Ramos (5.5) and Amorim’s management (5.5). All other players were handed passing scores.
Tuttosport follow the same line as CorSport in being critical. They too gave Amorim, Chukwueze, Musah and Estupinan a score of 5.5. Pulisic got a 5 as did Ramos. The praise instead went to Maignan (6.5), Gila (6.5) and Rabiot (6.5).
