Tomori injury adds to Milan’s concerns ahead of derby vs. Inter
Milan defender Fikayo Tomori was forced off due to an injury against Bologna, deepening the Rossoneri’s concerns ahead of Saturday’s derby against Inter.
Tomori started in a Serie A match against Bologna today but sustained a suspected thigh injury in the first half. The ex-Chelsea defender played until the break but was then substituted.
Milan eventually lost 4-2 against the Rossoblu and Tomori’s injury adds to the Rossoneri’s concerns ahead of Saturday’s derby against Inter.
In a post-match interview with DAZN, Milan coach Ruben Amorim said Tomori might have a “problem,” which will be assessed tomorrow.
The Rossoneri already had eight players unavailable against Bologna, including regular starters Mario Gila, Adrien Rabiot, Samuel Chukwueze, and summer signing Diego Moreira.
It remains unclear whether any of them can recover in time for the next match.
“Tomorrow, we’ll make assessments and see which players are available,” Amorim said at a post-match press conference via Milannews.
“I don’t want to talk about the players who were not available and didn’t allow us to rotate and keep a fresh squad. We just have to adapt. I’ll assess the players tomorrow. I think one or two might recover; perhaps we could take a risk with them. We’ll see.”
Today’s 4-2 loss to Bologna marks Milan’s first Serie A defeat this season, their third in 12 games across all competitions.
