Fikayo Tomori spoke to the media a few minutes ago as Milan are set to take on Bologna this evening, hoping to build on the win against Udinese.

After a very strange summer, during which he was demoted to the ‘Bomb Squad’ and had one foot out the door, Tomori has regained a spot in Milan’s squad. In the last four games (all comps), he has played 212 minutes and started three times, which says a lot.

Obviously, the lack of depth at the back has played a part, but it’s clear that Tomori has made the most of the opportunity. So much so that Ruben Amorim sees him as an important part of the team, as opposed to an emergency solution.

Tomori’s pre-match comments

Speaking to DAZN (via MilanNews) very briefly a few minutes ago, Tomori was asked about his journey this season and how it feels to be back playing. He made it clear that his No.1 goal is to help the team, getting the job done on the pitch.

How happy are you to be back playing?

“I’m happy, obviously. It’s my job to play and help the team. I always want to help the team. In the last few games, I’ve been ready, and I will be ready tonight as well.”
