AC Milan survived a late scare from Atalanta to emerge with their fourth Serie A victory of the season, winning 3-2 at San Siro.

After 66 minutes it was looking like the performance of the season, as Milan were three goals up. Goncalo Ramos converted a penalty, Adrien Rabiot fired in another goal and Mario Gila scored a second-half header to surely put the game to bed early.

However, Maurizio Sarri’s men came roaring back in the final 25 minutes. Gianluca Gaetano’s goal gave them some hope and then through Nikola Krstic to make it a very nervy finale, but the Rossoneri did hang on in the end to move into the top four.

AC Milan 3-2 Atalanta: Ratings from the papers

La Gazzetta dello Sport have published their ratings this morning, starting with the team’s overall performance and Ruben Amorim’s management of the game, both of which earned a 6.5 out of 10. It could have been even higher, but for the late collapse.

The man of the match was Rabiot, who was given an 8, while the player who struggled the most in the eyes of the paper was Samuel Chukwueze who was awarded a 5.

Praise was given to Mike Maignan (7) as well as Diego Moreira, Yunus Musah and Luka Modric, with those three getting a 6.5. Koni De Winter was handed a 5.5, as were all three substitutes: Omari Hutchinson, Pervis Estupinan and Ardon Jashari.

Corriere dello Sport also agree that Rabiot was the stand-out, grading him a 7.5. Maignan got a 7 as did Modric, while Gila, Moreira, Musah and Pulisic got a 6.5. Those who struggled were Jashari, Hutchinson (5.5s) and Estupinan (5).

Tuttosport largely agree with the other two papers. They gave Gila a 7.5 though – the same as Rabiot – with Maignan (7), Moreira, Musah and Modric (6.5s) being the others to get praise. They too feel that Jashari (5), Hutchinson (5.5) and Estupinan (5.5) struggled.
