AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim is still tinkering with his side, and he did some experimenting in training on the eve of the Genoa game.
After the disappointing Europa League defeat against Ferencvaros, Milan are looking to bounce back immediately this afternoon against Genoa. The Marassi has never been an easy stadium for the Rossoneri to win at especially since they’ll be facing a team that have won three straight matches.
As for Amorim’s possible selection choices, after the rotation in Europe, he’ll return to fielding big names like Mario Gila, Luka Modric, Diego Moreira and Christian Pulisic. Strahinja Pavlovic is still out due to discomfort.
Amorim tries two configurations
As Sky (via MilanNews) report this morning, during yesterday’s training session at Milanello, the Portuguese coach tested two line-ups. The second was used more than the first, the broadcaster adds.
The first combination that Amorim tried was a 4-4-1-1 with Pervis Estupinan at left back, then Yunus Musah and Luka Modric in the middle of the pitch, with Christian Pulisic on the left and Adrien Rabiot behind Goncalo Ramos.
Team one: Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Diawara, Estupinan; Moreira, Musah, Modric, Pulisic; Rabiot; Ramos.
The second version was still a 4-4-1-1 but with Musah as left back, Rabiot in midfield with Modric, Alphadjo Cisse as left winger and Pulisic as attacking midfielder behind Ramos.
Team two: Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Diawara, Musah; Moreira, Modric, Rabiot, Cisse; Pulisic; Ramos.
