Sky: A crisis before the derby – Milan’s injury list up to eight
Ahead of the Derby della Madonnina, it’s fair to say that AC Milan are struggling with several injuries to contend with.
October was going to be difficult, whatever happened, but Milan have also had to contend with several problems in the injury room. They entered the month with bad news from training, it didn’t improve in the first game back and it’s gradually been worsened.
It’s now gotten to the point where reports are talking about Ruben Amorim ‘rationing’ minutes to his squad. In some cases, it’s understandable. Yet, it highlights the known worries of the Rossoneri having barely any depth in the squad.
A small squad for the derby
As Sky reports, they could enter the derby with eight players sidelined. Matteo Gabbia, Alexis Saelemaekers and Samuel Chukwueze will be out for the long term, with each expected to be sidelined for a few months.
Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira are suffering from muscle injuries, whilst Mario Gila’s ankle is playing up. However, all three are hopefuls for the derby this weekend. ‘Every effort’ will be made to recover them, but there will be no risks taken, with the squad already short.
In addition to these, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is sidelined with a muscle tear, as is Pietro Terracciano.
