Shakhtar Donetsk star reveals he ‘really likes Milan’ ahead of meeting with Inter
Shakhtar Donetsk winger Alisson Santana has revealed that he is an admirer of Inter’s rivals AC Milan ahead of the Champions League meeting.
Inter are preparing for their second consecutive home game in the top European competition, having lost their previous two. Getting a top eight spot already feels like an uphill battle from here, with Shakhtar hoping to pile on more misery.
Speaking to TMW in an interview published the night before the game, Alisson Santana – the Ukrainian side’s latest Brazilian forward – revealed that he had a preference for the red and black side of the city growing up.
You’ll make your San Siro debut…
“I know the stadium, I’ve watched many games played there on TV. I’ve always liked it and I’ve always dreamed of playing there. I’ll be delighted to have this opportunity. I hope we can do well there.”
Has any Italian club ever approached you, and would you like to play there in the future?
“My agent and the club will take care of these matters, but it’s clear that there are many great clubs in Italy. I really like Milan – they’ve had many Brazilians in the past. It would be an honour to play in Italy, but you never know: the future is in God’s hands.”
The star of last Tuesday night’s Champions League action was undoubtedly Nicolo Tresoldi, the Brugge star who scored a hat-trick at San Siro against Inter in their 4-3 victory.
It was well-known before hand that he is a boyhood Milan fan, so it certainly carried a bit of extra meaning. The Nerazzurri will be hoping lightning doesn’t strike twice.
