Milan bring back Luka Modric, Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira after their first defeat, while Inter make some very surprising changes including new Petar Sucic and Andy Diouf roles.

It kicks off at the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in San Siro at 19.45 GMT (20.45 CET).

This match is also being aired live on BBC2 in the UK and on the iPlayer.

Just a couple of days ago, the two clubs unveiled plans for the new Generali Stadium that will begin construction in 2028, which should lead to the demolition of the Stadio Meazza in 2032.

So this is one of the last opportunities to truly enjoy this legendary arena, which marked its Centenary this month.

Milan are under pressure after suffering their first Serie A defeat of the season, falling 4-2 at home to Bologna midweek.

The injury crisis remains extensive, as Fikayo Tomori joined Matteo Gabbia, Samuel Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Alexis Saelemaekers and Pietro Terracciano on the treatment table.

However, there is a definite boost for Ruben Amorim with the return tonight of Mario Gila, Rabiot and Diego Moreira, while Modric and Pulisic were rested on Tuesday.

It looks like a four-man defence with Sankhoun Diawara preferred to Pervis Estupinan and Davide Bartesaghi as a more defensive left-back.

Inter are still unbeaten in Serie A and sit joint top of the table with Lazio, but have been really riding their luck recently.

They were trailing to Fiorentina until two goals in added time to win 2-1, then midweek relied on two own goals to defeat rock bottom Venezia.

Lautaro Martinez, Luis Henrique, Curtis Jones, John Stones and Benjamin Pavard are still injured, but Josep Martinez returns in goal after two matches where Ivan Provedel had the gloves.

This is partly forced, as Provedel isn’t even on the bench due to flu symptoms.

Cristian Chivu makes a lot of surprising changes, as Sucic and Diouf have a new role behind lone striker Marcus Thuram, leaving both Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito on the bench.

Milan won the last three editions of the Derby della Madonnina without conceding a goal, including the Coppa Italia semi-final, and haven’t lost to Inter since a 2-1 result in April 2024.
