Serie A: Monza vs. Napoli – Probable line-ups and where to watch on TV
Massimiliano Allegri is expected to make a series of changes to his Napoli starting line-up when the Partenopei take on Monza away from home in Serie A on Wednesday evening, which could include a change of goalkeepers.
A full round of Serie A fixtures is taking place this midweek, which got off to a flyer on Tuesday night with 18 goals scored across three fixtures for an average of six goals per game: Lazio beat 10-man Sassuolo 6-2 at the Mapei Stadium, Roma rose to a 4-2 victory over Cagliari at the Olimpico, while Cesc Fabregas and Como defeated Torino 3-1 at the Stadio Sinigaglia.
Monza and Napoli are in action at the Stadio Brianteo at 19.45 GMT (20.45 CET) on Wednesday evening.
The hosts have won two and lost two of their last four fixtures in Serie A, but are coming in off the back of a 3-2 defeat against Torino over the weekend.
Napoli, meanwhile, drew 3-3 at home against the in-form Roma on Saturday, which came after an all-action 4-3 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League last week.
Allegri was sent off at the end of the Roma match over the weekend and will be suspended for the next two fixtures, including tonight’s game and Sunday’s trip to his former club, Juventus.
Napoli will also have to do without the injured Benoit Badiashile and Leonardo Spinazzola, but have welcomed Amir Rrahmani back into the matchday squad.
According to pre-match reports, a few changes are in store for Napoli, including a potential start in goal for Vanja Milinkovic-Savic instead of Alex Meret.
Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be given a rest in midfield after starting two matches within the last week, while Stanislav Lobotka is likely to return after starting on the bench over the weekend. There could also be an opportunity for Giovane in attack.
