Serie A: Milan vs. Atalanta – Probable line-ups and where to watch on TV
Ruben Amorim looks set to bring Luka Modric and Goncalo Ramos back into his starting line-up when Milan take on Maurizio Sarri’s Atalanta in Serie A on Sunday evening.
The Rossoneri are hoping to get back to winning ways in the league after being held to a 1-1 draw away against Sassuolo last weekend. They picked up a 4-0 victory over RB Salzburg in the Europa League on Thursday evening thanks to a hat-trick from 19-year-old Alphadjo Cisse.
Amorim’s side are still unbeaten in Serie A after six games, with three wins and three draws on their record, leaving them with 12th points and in sixth place ahead of kick-off against Atalanta.
La Dea were also in European action on Thursday night, rising to a 3-1 victory over Pafos in the Conference League. They beat Venezia by the same scoreline in Serie A last weekend, which ended a run of three consecutive defeats prior to the international break.
Atalanta have nine points from their first six league matches of the season, which has them in 10th place on Sunday morning.
Amorim rested a few of his key first-team players against Salzburg earlier this week, including Modric and club record-signing Ramos, who both look set to return to the starting line-up in Serie A according to Sky Sport Italia.
It looks set to be a Milan back four, rather than the back three they played on Thursday night, with Mario Gila at right-back and either Diego Moreira or Pervis Estupinan at left-back.
Despite his hat-trick against RB Salzburg on Thursday, Cisse’s place in the starting line-up is not a guarantee, as he faces competition from Christian Pulisic for a spot in the XI.
Atalanta are without Franck Kessie and Giacomo Raspadori through injury, which means that Ederson and Mario Pasalic are the expected midfield pairing on Sunday. Sarri is likely to name an attacking unit that contains Nikola Zalewski, Charles De Ketelaere and Jonathan Rowe behind Nikola Krstovic at centre-forward.
Kick-off is due at 17.00 BST.
