Romano states Milan have a ‘priority’ for the January mercato: “Already wanted to do”
In the summer, AC Milan left it too late to complete the squad and were unsuccessful. That hasn’t put them off, though.
It’s fair to say that Milan’s failure to sign another defender in the summer mercato left many frustrated. After all, most identified it as a potential area of issue and even the club had flirted with the idea of adding more depth.
Yet, they only made their move on deadline day, attempting to sign their summer-long target Goncalo Inacio. It was understandably unsuccessful, but it immediately seemed clear that they’d retry the signing when they had a chance.
A defender is still the target
In recent months, the links to Inacio have only grown stronger and Sporting are already looking at replacements in preparation for the Rossoneri’s offer and Fabrizio Romano has strengthened these suggestions.
Speaking on his YouTube channel earlier today, he offered his thoughts on several things and touched upon the desire to sign a defender, as MilanNews relayed.
“Looking ahead to the January transfer window, the defender remains the club’s priority. It was something Milan had already wanted to do in the final days of the summer transfer window, and now they’ll try to sign him in January.”
There may be some new faces in the building by then, so it’ll be important to see if the targets remain the same…
