Roma could start third-choice goalkeeper against Man Utd amid Gollini concerns
Roma‘s third-choice goalkeeper, Devis Vásquez, might start against Manchester United tonight as Pierluigi Gollini deals with back pain.
Roma may be forced to field their third-choice goalkeeper, Vásquez, tonight against Manchester United in the Champions League.
Roma’s goalkeeper crisis vs. Man United
Multiple sources, including Il Tempo and Sky Sport Italia, claim that Gollini has back pain, which may rule him out of tonight’s fixture.
If Gollini isn’t fit to start, Colombian goalkeeper Vasquez will get the nod at Old Trafford, playing his first-ever competitive match for the Giallorossi.
Gollini is Roma’s second-choice keeper and has replaced Mile Svilar in recent games. Svilar was named the Serie A best goalkeeper in the last two seasons.
After Svilar’s October injury, Roma reintroduced Vasquez to their Champions League list, as the ex-Milan and Empoli shot-stopper had initially been left out.
Roma have grabbed four points in the opening three Champions League games of the season, beating Slovan Bratislava, drawing against Fenerbahce and losing to Real Madrid.
