Adrien Rabiot did not seem in the mood to celebrate despite his goal and AC Milan’s win against Atalanta at San Siro.

In truth, his frustrations are understandable given that Milan led 3-0 after less than an hour of the game and they were totally outplaying their opponents. Rabiot scored the second in the first half, with his goal sandwiched by Goncalo Ramos’ penalty and Mario Gila’s header.

However, the away side came roaring back at the end and with 81 minutes on the clock they had made it a one-goal game. Gianluca Gaetano got the first goal back after a nice move, then Nikola Krstovic fired in to make San Siro very nervy. Ruben Amorim’s men hung on though, just about.

Rabiot got yet another goal and yet another assist to continue his fantastic start to the season. After the final whistle he spoke to Sky to give his thoughts on the game, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

How do you explain this very strange match?

“We played very well in the first half, but then, strangely, in the second half, the last thirty minutes, we lost the thread of the game, and that’s a problem, because we played very well in the first half. Then, if we play like that in the second half, it’s worth nothing.

“Fortunately, we won this match, but in the end, I don’t know if we deserved it that much. That’s why I’m a little angry, because, I repeat, we won and we needed the three points, but we can’t play like that in the first half and then collapse like that in the second half.”
