Milan star Christian Pulisic says he wanted to ‘repay’ Milan fans by signing a new contract with the Rossoneri: ‘They restarted my career and helped me in so many ways.’

Pulisic scored the opening goal in Milan’s 3-1 win over Inter on Saturday.

Pulisic: Milan have given me confidence

Just a few days before the game against the Nerazzurri, the American star had signed a contract extension until 2031.

“I guess I wasn’t thinking too much about the contract, but it does feel really good,” Pulisic told CBS at full time.

“What this club has given me, from top to bottom. The confidence they’ve given me. To repay these fans on a day like today, but I want to give them so much more because they really restarted my career and helped me in so many ways, so I owe it to them.”

Pulisic has now scored four goals in the Derby della Madonnina.

“I love playing in the biggest games. The atmosphere was incredible today, and winning again is always special,” he added.

“I like to play in big games; we’re always very motivated, and we seem to do well against Inter in recent times. For us, it’s about finding consistency in all other games because we seem to find a little extra motivation for these ones.

“I feel very lucky that I get to do this, every single day. I work really hard so I can have moments like these. So, yeah, I’m just pleased to be able to do this.”

The 28-year-old has now scored three goals and provided one assist in nine games across all competitions this season.

He joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea in 2023 for a €21m deal and has netted 45 goals in 143 games for the Serie A giants.

Milan are fifth in the Serie A standings with 21 points in ten matches, seven points below table leaders Lazio.
