Only three survive in scathing set of scores: Player ratings for Milan-Bologna from Italian papers
AC Milan completely fell apart in the second half of their home game against Bologna last night, losing for the first time in Serie A.
Samuel Mbangula was the one who stole the show, scoring the opening goal in the first half and then two more in the second half to fire Bologna to a memorable 4-2 win. It meant that Alphadjo Cisse’s brace in the opening 45 minutes was all for nothing, as the Rossoneri fell seven points behind the top two.
Milan 2-4 Bologna: Ratings from the papers
We published our ratings from the game on the full-time whistle, but this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has theirs. The team’s performance and Amorim’s management of the game were both given a 4.5 out of 10, one of the lowest grades of the season so far.
Cisse was the saving grace as he got a 7 for scoring twice, while Goncalo Ramos got the lowest mark which was a 4. Fikayo Tomori (who went off injured) and Omari Hutchinson each received a 6.5.
Ardon Jashari got a pass (6), while 5.5s went to Strahinja Pavlovic and Pervis Estupinan. Mike Maignan, Koni De Winter, Luka Modric, Sankhoun Diawara, Christian Pulisic and Francesco Camarda got a 5. Yunus Musah and Davide Bartesaghi got a 4.5.
Corriere della Sera reserved praise only for Cisse (7) and Hutchinson (6.5). Maignan, Pavlovic and Estupinan each got a 5.5; De Winter, Musah and Modric a 5; Diawara a 4.5 and Ramos a 4.
Tuttosport were equally as harsh but fair as their colleagues. Camarda got a 4 for missing a big chance, De Winter and Amorim got a 4.5, then Modric, Pavlovic, Diawara, Pulisic, Musah and Ramos were given a 5. Only Tomori, Hutchinson (6.5s) and Cisse (7.5) evaded criticism.
