Official Lazio Squad vs Monza: Three Midfielders Return, Four Players Out

Ahead of Sunday’s contest against Monza, Lazio have released their matchday squad, and it includes three returning players.

Lazio to Host Monza on Sunday

The Biancocelesti will be looking to extend their purple patch and keep pace with Inter Milan and Roma when they host the newly-promoted side at a virtually empty Stadio Olimpico. The game kicks off at 15:00 local time.

Dele-Bashiru & Cataldi Back in Lazio Squad

Luckily for Gennaro Gattuso, the midfield emergency is seemingly over, with three players returning from injury to bolster the department. The first is Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who has been out after picking up a muscle injury on the opening day of the season in Bologna. The Nigerian international already featured in last weekend’s friendly test against Juve Stabia.

Danilo Catlaldi has also recovered from groin surgery and a few other setbacks to make himself available at the manager’s disposal. The experienced Lazio stalwart will add depth to the midfield department, as will 19-year-old Adrian Przyborek, who also recovered from a slight knock.

Rovella & Three Others Remain Out

Despite the triple boost, the midfield is still lacking Nicolo Rovella’s influential presence. The 24-year-old is aiming to return next weekend against his former employers, Juventus. The same goes for Adam Marusic and Matteo Cancellieri, while Albert Gudmundsson could be facing a longer spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder during Iceland’s game against Estonia.

Lazio also remain without their third-choice goalkeeper Alessio Furlanetto, who tore his ACL at the end of last season, and could remain out until spring.
