Nico Gonzalez’s gesture helps Woltemade score first Juventus goal

Nico Gonzalez gave the ball to Nick Woltemade after earning a penalty kick against NEC last night, allowing the Newcastle loanee to score his first goal in a Bianconeri shirt from the spot.

Juventus secured a comfortable 5-0 win over NEC in their Europa League opener last night, with four players- Woltemade, Randal Kolo Muani, Zeki Celik and Kerim Alajbegovic scoring for the first time this season.

Woltemade started the match at the Allianz Stadium and converted a penalty kick in the 35th minute to make it 3-0 for the Old Lady.

Argentine winger Nico Gonzalez earned the penalty but immediately took the ball in his hands and gave it to Woltemade, giving the Newcastle loanee his chance to score for Juventus for the first time.

Juventus return to action next Sunday when they host Maurizio Sarri’s Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus have collected two wins, one draw and one defeat in the opening four league games of 2026-27.
