The new Milan and Inter arena at San Siro will be called Generali Stadium, it was announced, be created with a basin shape and on top of a raised podium.

The images of the new design are under embargo until this evening, but some initial details are emerging from the joint press conference held by the two clubs at the Sforzesco Castle.

News agency ANSA confirms they announced the naming rights of the new structure have been sold to insurance giant Generali.

It will therefore be called the Generali Stadium, including a sign on the outside where the name is clearly visible.

New San Siro takes shape

Although we do not yet have the images, the design for the project has been described as having a “basin shape” with steep stands to ensure a clear vision from all seats.

It is also going to be built over a podium that allows for elevation.

The first tier should be divided into two parts, with 11,500 seats in each ‘curva’ section.

Inter and Milan hope to begin construction in 2027 and have it fully completed by 2031, so that it can be one of the host stadiums when Italy share the EURO 2032 duties with Turkiye.
