Napoli confirm injuries to Badiashile and Spinazzola but get one defender back
It has been a frustrating day for Napoli, who have recently learned that head coach Massimiliano Allegri will be suspended for the next two games, and are now preparing to go into Wednesday’s Serie A match against Monza without Benoit Badiashile or Leonardo Spinazzola, who are both injured.
Napoli confirm injuries to Badiashile and Spinazzola, Rrahmani back
The Lega Serie A confirmed on Monday that Allegri has been handed a two-match suspension after his outburst at the end of Napoli’s 3-3 draw against Roma on Saturday, which means he will have to sit out of Wednesday’s game against Monza and the return to his former club Juventus on Sunday.
Napoli have confirmed in a statement that they will be appealing the decision to hand Allegri a two-match suspension.
The club has also confirmed in another statement that Badiashile and Spinazzola have suffered injuries after the 3-3 draw against Roma over the weekend.
The bigger concern is for summer signing Badiashile, who has suffered a medium-grade strain to the rectus fermoris in his right leg, which is likely to keep him out of action for around a month according to initial reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Spinazzola is facing a shorter period on the sidelines, but is still expected to miss the Monza game with a low-grade injury to the femoral biceps in his right thigh.
The positive update is that Amir Rrahmani trained in full with the first-team group on Monday, which makes it a case of one in, two out in defence for Napoli.
