Napoli appeal against Allegri’s suspension: the club’s statement
Allegri has been given a two-match ban following his sending-off in the match against Roma.
Napoli have announced they will appeal against the two-match ban handed to Massimiliano Allegri after his sending-off late in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Roma at the Maradona.
In a statement, the club said: "Following the request for access to the documents, SSC Napoli announce that they will appeal against the two-match ban imposed on manager Massimiliano Allegri."
The Sporting Judge gave the following reasons for the two-match suspension: "A two-match suspension and a fine of €10,000.00 for addressing an insulting remark to the match officials in the 45th minute of the second half and, in the dressing rooms, making a gravely disrespectful remark to the same officials and adopting an aggressive attitude towards an official of the opposing team; the offences were reported by the fourth official and the referee, and the last by representatives of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office".
