Musah happy with Milan rejuvenation after ‘most beautiful night’: “The fans are incredible”

In the summer, it seemed Yunus Musah was a player on the move, but Ruben Amorim opted to keep him, a decision AC Milan are overjoyed with.

Last summer, it seemed Musah was heading to a permanent exit. Atalanta pursued him all summer and there was interest from across Europe. However, that wasn’t seen as a bad thing by most.

So, when La Dea opted against signing him permanently in the summer, most expected the same outcome: a departure. Yet, Amorim opted to keep him and that decision has paid off substantially.

The American has become a core part of the team, and has definitely rejuvenated his career. Indeed, he is beginning to look like the player the Rossoneri hoped he’d become when they signed the youngster from Spain.

The new Musah

Speaking at full-time to Sky Sport 24, the midfielder looked back on his recent rise and admitted that the work was not yet done, as MilanNews relays.

Is it the most beautiful night of the year?

“Yes, it’s definitely been the best night of the year so far. We know that in derbies, when you win, especially at home, the stadium is incredible, the fans are incredible. We learn from every match: we learned from Bologna and we’ll try not to make the same mistakes moving forward.

Today you walked out to a standing ovation: has everything turned upside down?

“I’m happy with the current situation, but football has a short memory and I have to continue like this until the end of the season; otherwise, I know things can change again immediately and here you have to play well every game because there’s always someone who wants your place, you’re at Milan.”

Did you test Rabiot’s goal: was the ball a cross or a shot?

“It was a corner we set up, which we knew Inter wouldn’t pursue. Adrien, no, in my opinion, wanted to put the ball there to create danger, put it there and hope someone would be there. But no, honestly no, I don’t think he meant to shoot.”
