In the summer, it’s fair to suggest that there were a few doubts about AC Milan hiring Ruben Amorim. Things appear to have shifted, though.

After a few years of tumultuous results, Milan moving for Amorim seemed like a huge risk which they maybe couldn’t afford. They’d been interested in several other candidates before the Portuguese, and eventually settled on him, with the blessing of soon-to-be-appointed Head of Football, Markus Krösche.

Of course, considering the other names linked, he was seen as an unattractive option. Yet, he’s clearly learned from his time in Manchester, with the Rossoneri regularly changing face and being a more fluid team – both in games and before them.

As a result, Amorim’s side remain unbeaten in Serie A, with their only loss of the season coming against Benfica in the Europa League. A really strong start and proof of change from the Diavolo and, more importantly, Amorim. Of course, this bodes well with the rumours about Krösche, too.

Krosche happy with Amorim

Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto offered some reassurances on Amorim’s position, as MilanNews relayed.

“I want to clarify something about Krösche: when he was one step away from joining AC Milan in the summer, the German had already given his approval to the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the new AC Milan coach, so in short, there will be no problem between Krösche and the Portuguese coach.”
