This week could be a big one for AC Milan, so Gerry Cardinale has returned to Italy to spend it with the team, ensuring he’s present for key moments.

At this point, Cardinale’s presence in Milano is not strange. Maybe earlier this year it would have been, but no more. The American has committed to helping Milan himself, so his continued presence at Milanello and Casa Milan is a statement of that desire.

Cardinale’s big week

As MilanNews writes, this will be a key week for Cardinale. In terms of football, he oversaw the win in Udine and will be in town for the games against Bologna and the derby against Inter. Continued statements of his desire to support his team whenever and wherever possible.

Away from the pitch, though, his attention will turn to the management, where he hopes to intensify talks with Markus Krösche. The German has returned to the driving seat in the hunt for a Head of Football and a financial agreement has seemingly been reached. If the conditions can be agreed upon, the road to Krösche will open.

Finally, maybe most importantly, he will be present on Thursday for the unveiling of the new San Siro in the Visconti Hall of the Sforza Castle. It’s a statement that marks a new era of the club, and it’s something he’s pushed for – personally – for years.
