Milan Reinvigorated by Recent Events Ahead of January
Milan owner Gerry Cardinale has promised reinforcements in January to fuel their Scudetto ambitions before toppling Inter in the Derby on Saturday. The Rossoneri will soon install Markus Krosche as their apical director and won’t be shy in the next window, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
They aim for another Mario Gila-like signing in the back and remain supremely interested in Gonçalo Inacio, who is a pet player for Ruben Amorim. They could spend up to €40/45M to snap him up, but it remains to be seen whether and when Sporting CP will okay his departure.
Milan also plan to shore up their frontline with a pair of additions. Omari Hutchison has been doing fine while filling in for Samuel Chukwueze. However, he’d have to be exceptional to stay permanently, given his €40M option to buy.
The Rossoneri are pursuing Endrick to fill that role, but José Mourinho has so far managed to hold onto him, despite his spotty playing time. If there were an opening, his €50M price tag wouldn’t scare off the suitors. Francesco Camarda isn’t developing as quickly as hoped, so they lack a second striker. Nicolò Tresoldi tops their shortlist, but he’s highly unlikely to move in January.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Tiago Gabriel, Kim Min-Jae, and Daniele Ghilardi are the fallbacks in the rearguard, while Alex Scott is the top target to fortify the midfield.
Our Take on Milan
Since Inter haven’t been perfect, a few sides, including the Rossoneri, have a puncher’s chance at the title, and it appears their owner won’t spare expenses if he’s smelling blood. Plus, their new exec will want to quickly leave his mark, so they’ll surely be a team to watch in January.
