The player declared his support for the Rossoneri

Milan want Nicolo Tresoldi. The Club Brugge striker has caught the eye of Rossoneri president Gerry Cardinale, not least because Tresoldi is a fan of the Lombard side, and the forward underlined his credentials with a Champions League hat-trick against Serie A champions Inter Milan.

Italian network "Calciomercato" revealed that Cardinale wants the young striker at Milan and intends to use his declared affection for the red and black colours to get the deal done. Tresoldi put three past Inter at the San Siro when the two sides met in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

This is no sudden infatuation. Milan's management have tracked his development for a long time and hold a thick file of reports on him.

Cardinale knows exactly what he has in the young striker, which is why he has told those running the transfer file to stay on top of contact with the player's entourage.

The RedBird group president wants constant updates on Tresoldi's future, ready to move either in the winter window or next summer.

The current situation

Born in 2004, Tresoldi is tied to Club Brugge until June 2029. The Belgian club turned down a 35 million euro offer from Roma last August.

His market value has since climbed beyond 50 million euros. He has 32 goals in 69 club matches, plus 16 goals in 27 appearances for the Germany under-21 side.

Milan are far from alone. Several clubs are jostling for his signature, among them Arsenal and Barcelona, as well as Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Tottenham, plus Inter Milan themselves.

His father Emanuele, the former Atalanta right-back, has acknowledged his son's passion for Milan's colours, and that could prove decisive in settling his future. It may also push Club Brugge to the negotiating table with the Italian club, much as they did over Swiss midfielder Ardon Jashari in the summer of 2025.
