Milan owner Cardinale refuses to rule out Al Nassr takeover: ‘Intrigued’ by Cristiano Ronaldo
During his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan owner Gerry Cardinale confirmed talks for a potential Al Nassr takeover: ‘I’m intrigued to understand what Cristiano Ronaldo might want to do when he stops playing.’
Milan owner Cardinale has spent the last few days in Milan attending the Rossoneri’s recent Serie A matches against Udinese and Bologna, as well as an event on Thursday to unveil Milan and Inter’s new stadium.
Cardinale: ‘There have been conversations’ over Al Nassr takeover
During his interview with Gazzetta, Cardinale was asked whether he’s really interested in buying a majority stake in Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, and the Rossoneri owner honestly replied: “There have been conversations to assess the opportunity of Al Nassr and they approached me to examine it, but we are at a preliminary stage.
“I do a lot of work in the Middle East: I’d like to meet [Cristiano] Ronaldo because I’m intrigued to understand what he might want to do when he stops playing and what his future involvement with the Saudi club will be. I will continue to assess multi-club possibilities, bearing in mind that I already have Toulouse and Milan.”
In the same interview, Cardinale said he still fully trusts Milan coach Ruben Amorim and promised more investment in new signings during the January transfer window.
Cardinale will be in the stands at San Siro tomorrow, when the Rossoneri face city rivals Inter in the campaign’s first derby della Madonnina.
