Milan Futuro 1-1 Club Milano: Injury-time equaliser conceded against 10 men
Milan Futuro were held to a frustrating draw against Club Milano on Sunday afternoon, conceding an equaliser against 10 men.
The Futuro secured a big three points a week ago as they struck with five minutes left to beat Chievo Verona 2-1. Levis Asanji scored the first with a lovely back heel, Chievo equalised but went down to 10 men, and Alessandro Bonomi scored the winner in the 85th minute.
That put Sergio Navarro’s side seventh with 12 points from six games, but with a couple less played than teams above them. A few key players were taken away from the coach due to the first team injury crisis, but the hope was to follow up the win with another victory.
The first half started at a very slow pace, but things really kicked into gear around the 15th minute. After failing to capitalise on an initial chance, the Rossoneri took the lead in the 25th minute thanks to Asanji’s header, his second goal in two games.
After the goal, Milan had a few opportunities to double their lead, but the visitors also made their presence felt, especially on the counter-attack. Neither team, however, managed to find another goal in the first 45 minutes.
The second half brought a potentially game-changing turn of event. Club Milano were reduced to ten men following a hard challenge by Ferrante on Borsani. Then, it felt like a case of just managing the game.
Despite being outnumbered, Club Milano drew level in injury time. Conti’s free kick was hit at Pittarella but he could only parry it. Conti quickly responded to the rebound and scored the equaliser, leaving Milan stunned.
