Milan, Amorim prepares for Europa League and Serie A double-header: team selections for Ferencváros and Genoa
Milan, with the derby euphoria behind them, look to take the next step: Amorim prepares for fixtures against Ferencváros and Genoa
Milan supporters won't be allowed into the Ferraris stadium to watch the match against Genoa. Their highly original protest could also be seen as a bid to spark debate: they'll go to the Genoa Aquarium. AC Milan's Curva Sud announced the initiative ahead of the match scheduled for Sunday 8 November at 3pm. Amorim hopes the away trip will be opened up to Milan supporters living in Lombardy in the coming hours. He knows what a difference they can make, as they showed in the derby. Milan are taking the match against De Rossi's side seriously, so the Milan manager will have to manage his resources against Ferencváros at San Siro next Thursday, in the fourth round of Serie A.
Who plays against Ferenacvaros?
Maignan will miss the match against Hungarian side Ferencváros as he serves a one-match suspension following his red card at Bournemouth. Torriani is ready to step in. With Tomori and Gabbia injured, Amorim has few options for rotating his defence. Terracciano could get a chance on the right, with Gila and either De Winter or Pavlovic, the former the favourite, and Estupinan on the left. Jashari is certain to start in midfield, while Musah and Rabiot are competing for the remaining place. Modric will be rested. Hutchinson should feature on the right in attacking midfield, with Bartesaghi on the left and Cisse just behind Goncalo Ramos.
Who plays against Genoa?
Milan must get their approach right against Genoa at the Ferrarsi on Sunday, or risk giving a tough team and a crowd who know how to get behind their favourites a lift. Maignan returns in goal for Milan, with Gila back on the right and De Winter and Pavlovic on the left. The midfield trio from the derby look set to continue, with Rabiot free to make runs forward between Musah and Modric. Diawara will cover the entire left flank, while Moreira plays on the opposite side. Pulisic returns in attack to support Ramos.
