McKennie fit for Fiorentina as Juventus chase a third straight win before the break
Weston McKennie is over the muscle problem that kept him out at AZ and is set to start in Florence on Sunday. A win would send Spalletti's depleted side into the international break on a three-match winning run.
Juventus close the round in Florence with a familiar midfielder back. Spalletti will hand Weston McKennie an immediate return to the side, Sky Sport Italia reports. The return comes at a useful moment for a squad that is still stretched.
Celik and Conceição face late fitness checks and may only make the bench. Before the AZ match, Çelik was one of three Juventus players with at least two goals in this Europa League campaign, alongside Nick Woltemade and Randal Kolo Muani. The club’s squad list had not yet been published.
Six absentees limit how much Spalletti can change
Yildiz, Thuram, Locatelli, Grabara, Nico González and Ekhator are all unavailable. The expected shape is a 4-4-2. Vicario is in goal behind Kalulu, Bremer, Lucumí and Cabal. McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Koopmeiners and Alajbegovic form the midfield, with Kolo Muani and Woltemade up front.
Spalletti will skip the usual pre-match press conference. The decision was put down only to the run of closely spaced fixtures.
Fiorentina have problems of their own. Parisi, Atta and Pongračić are out, and Atta will not return until after the break. Ranieri may be fit enough for the bench. The hosts sit just above the relegation zone, but they carry a threat in Franco Mastantuono. He has had 38 shots, 11 of them on target, this Serie A season. Only Nico Paz, Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal have had more in Europe’s top five leagues.
Two goals would make Juventus joint-top scorers against the Viola
History favours the visitors. Juventus have won 82 Serie A meetings with Fiorentina, the Viola have won 37, and 55 have been drawn. Juventus have scored 275 top-flight goals against them, two fewer than Inter’s 277. A two-goal haul on Sunday would draw them level.
Kolo Muani looks the likeliest source. He has scored five of his last six Serie A goals away from home. Since February 2025, no Juventus player has more away league goals than his five, a tally that equals Dusan Vlahovic’s. He is also the only player at the club this season with at least three goals and three assists in all competitions, with four goals and three assists. He scored with Koopmeiners at AZ, taking Juventus to 11 goals after four Europa League matches.
Kerim Alajbegovic has a milestone within reach. He can become the first foreign player in Juventus’s history to score in two top-flight games in a row before turning 20.
The stakes are clear. Victory would carry Juventus into the break with three wins in a row and strengthen their bid to rejoin the European race. After it, Juventus host Venezia on 22 November at 12:30, before a trip to Como on 29 November.
