Lazio have decided to remain active during the upcoming international break, organising a friendly against FC Mgarr United.
Lazio Set to Play a Friendly During the International Break
Gennaro Gattuso’s men have been enjoying an astonishing Serie A run since the start of the season, winning nine games and drawing one. If they can avoid an away defeat to Napoli on Sunday, they will head into the international break top of the table.
But in order to keep his non-international players in game mode, the manager opted to play a friendly during the break. The Biancocelesti had already tested this option during the extended internaitonal break between September and October, playing against Arezzo and Juve Stabia in back-to-back weekends.
Mgarr Announce Lazio Friendly at Formello
This time, Lazio will host Mgarr United, a Maltese club that plays in the second division. While the Italian capital side has yet to make an official announcement, Mgarr confirmed the news through a post on the club’s official Instagram account. The friendly will take place at Lazio’s training centre in Formello on Saturday, November 14, with the kickoff set at 11:00 am local time.
Mgarr’s post also revealed that fans interested in accompanying the team to Rome can get in touch with the club, suggesting that fans of both sides will be able to attend the game, albeit Formello’s training ground stands have limited capacity.
