Juventus’ UEFA squad list: Carnevali confirms “Zhegrova cannot replace Locatelli, but Ekhator can”

Juventus CEO speaks during the shareholders’ meeting

Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali told the club's shareholders' meeting that the regulations prevent Edon Zhegrova from replacing Manuel Locatelli on the UEFA list: "Locatelli is a player trained in Italy and can only be replaced by a player trained in Italy: so Ekhator, not Zhegrova".

Locatelli will be out until March because of injury. Zhegrova was not included on the UEFA list at the start of the season, nor was Jeff Ekhator, who was injured when the lists were drawn up. Born in 2006, the former Genoa player returned to the league matchday squad for Sunday evening's 2-0 win over Napoli at the Allianz Stadium.
