Juventus suffer Cambiaso blow but could recover two players for Fiorentina
Andrea Cambiaso is set for a spell on the sidelines and will not be available to face Fiorentina in Serie A this weekend, but Luciano Spalletti could potentially recover two more Juventus players for Sunday’s trip to Florence.
Cambiaso ruled out of Fiorentina vs. Juventus, McKennie and Celik could return
According to the latest reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Cambiaso is struggling with muscular fatigue, which will rule him out of Sunday’s Serie A match against Fiorentina.
The 26-year-old had lined up as a starter for Juve’s 2-1 victory away against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday evening. He was not one of the 31 players called up by Roberto Mancini to the most recent Italy national team squad, which was also announced on Thursday night.
Cambiaso has already missed four matches this season, skipping the weeks leading up to the September-October international break with a sprained ankle.
In more encouraging news for the Old Lady, Weston McKennie is expected to be available for selection for the Fiorentina match after missing out on the AZ Alkmaar match with a minor adductor issue.
Zeki Celik is also pushing for a spot on the bench against Fiorentina, but this is less of a certainty than McKennie’s return. The reintroduction of Francisco Conceicao this weekend has been described as ‘more complicated’.
