A heated winter transfer window lies ahead for the Brazilian defender, at the centre of controversy over his post-Lazio comments.

Gleison Bremer's future at Juventus could become a talking point in the winter transfer window. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the Brazilian defender as they look to strengthen their defence immediately.

After turning down Galatasaray's approaches in the summer, the Brazilian centre-back could consider a new challenge, aiming to play in the Champions League straight away and cement his place in the Brazil national team. Bremer, born in 1997, is under contract with Juventus until 2029 and earns €6 million a season (€5 million plus €1 million in bonuses), the third-highest salary in the squad after Yildiz and Kolo Muani.

His comments at the start of the summer about wanting a club ready to win immediately attracted attention, casting doubt on whether Juventus fitted the bill: "I'm 29, I want to win, I can't wait any longer".

Juventus have reasons to consider selling Bremer: he is a mainstay of their defence, but his high salary and market value could bring them to the negotiating table if the right offer arrives. The player's recent change of agent could also signal a new phase in how he manages his career.

Bremer's comments after Juventus-Lazio 0-3 sparked controversy and drew disapproval from both Spalletti and the club, adding to the sense that he could leave in the near future.
