Markus Krosche is the leading candidate to be AC Milan’s new Head of Football, but nothing has been done yet.

Throughout the summer, Krosche’s name was heavily linked to being the new man to lead the Milan project. Several candidates were looked at, but the German was the one that was desired most by Gerry Cardinale.

However, a deal couldn’t be done and the American went back to the drawing board. Yet, his temporary assignment of roles still left a way for a Head of Football to eventually arrive and it seems that this remains the plan.

So, with Krosche announcing his departure from Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend, the first suggestions were that he was in talks with the Rossoneri and several updates have continued this line of thinking.

Krosche’s future

Speaking on his YouTube channel, via MilanNews, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the pursuit of Krosche and what the Diavolo are doing.

“I also wanted to talk about AC Milan because the Devils have certainly regained their serenity in terms of results. The final part of the game against Atalanta was indeed difficult to manage, but three important points were achieved; we must not forget the three goals scored, the very good and very convincing performance up to that point from AC Milan.

“And then on AC Milan, we cannot fail to mention the arrival that is very close to Markus Krosche as the next Head of Football. At this moment it is not done yet, but it is a very well underway discussion.

“Krosche, out of respect for Eintracht, wanted to first say goodbye and say goodbye to the German club. Krösche is now free, but there will still be discussions and negotiations to be made in terms of compensation towards Eintracht, but the Krösche era is over and so clearly AC Milan is now ready to take all the steps to try to bring him in red and black.

“Confidence in Amorim is growing with his latest performances, and the prospect of adding another player like the Head of Football, something Milan has clearly lacked, speaks volumes about the club’s ambitions.
