“It’s not a surprise to me” – Pulisic delighted with Milan’s performance in derby win

Christian Pulisic believes AC Milan recorded an important win against Inter in the derby, but they must keep their heads down and continue working.

Milan claimed the bragging rights in the derby, winning 3-1 at San Siro tonight thanks to three goals in the first half. The first came from a Christian Pulisic header, the second was an Adrien Rabiot goal from a corner and the third was a Diego Moreira free-kick.

Alessandro Bastoni’s goal had briefly halved the deficit, but it was to be all for nothing as Milan racked up their fourth Derby della Madonnina win in a row. It moves the Rossoneri four points behind their city rivals, and also ends their unbeaten start to the season.

Pulisic spoke to MilanNews after the full-time whistle to give his assessments on the game, and his words were relayed by MilanNews.

You were tactically perfect…

“We started the match very well, with intensity, with physicality. We played very well, scoring two goals in the first part, and this victory is very important for us.”

Four games, four goals, and four wins with Inter…

“I have to keep scoring in the derby, yes (laughs, ed.)”

Is the Scudetto battle reopening?

“These are three very important points for us, but we have to continue to find this consistency and win every match.”

Were you expecting a match like this?

“Yes, we always play well in big games like today, so it’s not a surprise to me. We did things well.”
