Will the negative run be broken?

Bologna and Inter Milan cannot be separated across their last nine Serie A meetings. Three wins each, three draws, the most recent of them a 3-3 thriller at the Dall'Ara on 23 May.

Statistics specialists Opta note that Saturday's seventh-round fixture could hand Bologna and Inter back-to-back league draws for the first time since November 2013 and April 2014, following that 3-3 result on 23 May.

At home to Inter, Bologna have gone unbeaten in four of their last five Serie A meetings, winning three and drawing one. Before that run, they lost 12 of 15 at the Dall'Ara against the Nerazzurri, drawing the other three.

Since last December, nobody in Serie A has leaked more goals at home than Bologna. Their net has been breached 26 times.

Strip out the promoted and relegated sides over the same period and Bologna have the worst home return in the division: 11 points from 17 games, two wins, five draws, 10 defeats. The next worst team is at least five points better off.

Four of their last five home league games have ended level, with one defeat, including each of the last two.

The Emilia-Romagna side could rack up at least three straight home draws in the competition for the first time since the April to October 2024 stretch, when they managed seven in a row.

Inter sit on 16 points and can climb to at least 19 after seven rounds for only the fourth time since three points for a win arrived in 1994-1995.

Luciano Spalletti's side hit 19 in 2017-2018, as did Hector Cuper's in 2002-2003 and Luigi Simoni's in 1997-1998. Not one of those three campaigns ended with the title.

On the road, Inter have alternated draw and win across their last seven Serie A trips, the latest a 2-2 at Roma.

The Nerazzurri have not drawn two away games in a row since the May to September 2024 period, when they put together three.

Juventus boast the best expected goals conceded figure in Serie A this season at 2.9, with Bologna second on 5.8 and Inter fifth on 7.0.

Five goals, five different scorers. That is Bologna's Serie A return so far, shared between Piccoli, Dovbyk, Bernardeschi, Orsolini and Iling.

Federico Bernardeschi has had a hand in six league goals during 2026, four scored and two created, making him Bologna's biggest contributor in front of goal.

Lautaro Martinez has five Serie A goals against Bologna, every one of them at the San Siro.

No ground has frustrated the Argentine more in the competition than the Renato Dall'Ara, where he has played 483 minutes without scoring.

He has also drawn a blank at just two other Serie A venues: the Paolo Mazza in Ferrara, where he has 103 minutes, and the Ezio Scida in Crotone, where he has 65.
