Icardi wants to return to Italy: open to Juventus in January and Inter even on a reduced salary
The Argentine striker continues to put himself forward for a return to playing in Italy.
The president of Inter, Beppe Marotta, has made it clear: Mauro Icardi is not in the club's plans. But the Argentine striker has not given up. Now a free agent, he continues to offer his services in the hope of returning to Inter or another Serie A club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Galatasaray player still wants to return, and a move back to Milan has never been the only option he has pursued.
At Inter even on a reduced salary
Icardi has repeatedly offered himself to Inter since the start of last summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, he has done so month after month, either directly or through intermediaries. He has told Inter's directors he would be extremely flexible over his role, accepting a place as the fifth forward, and over the financial terms.
In January, he had told Juventus he was available
Above all, he wants to return to Italy. Last January, while still under contract with Galatasaray on a deal that expired last June, Icardi was willing to accept Juventus's offer, but the move fell through. Lazio also came close to sealing a deal in the summer.
