Rasmus Hojlund ‘disagrees’ with his coach, Massimiliano Allegri, over Napoli’s performance against Porto and adds: ‘We must look at ourselves in the mirror; not only players, everybody in the football club needs to take responsibility.

Napoli suffered a 4-1 away loss to Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday and have earned only three points in the opening four games of the competition, winning once and losing three times.

The Partenopei have already lost seven games from 14 across all competitions.

“It’s difficult to speak about it. I think we are in a very dark place right now, and we need to work. We are together and see if we can improve,” Hojlund told Amazon Prime Italia at full time.

Allegri tried not to make a drama out of the defeat, saying that the performance was good, at least for the opening 70 minutes.

“I disagree; I think, of course, it’s not a bad game. I can agree with this, but we have to stop conceding bad goals, and we have to start winning football matches. We’ve lost too many games this season,” Hojlund replied.

The Denmark international looked disheartened during his post-match interview, and when he was asked how he felt, his reply was honest: “Disappointed, angry, of course, like you said.

“Perhaps because I’ve been a bit sick, I’m a bit tired now after 90 minutes, but we must look at ourselves in the mirror; not only players, everybody in the football club needs to take responsibility.”

The atmosphere in the Napoli dressing room appears to be turning toxic, as Matteo Politano’s post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia and the ugly confrontation between Lorenzo Lucca and Kevin De Bruyne during the match show, when the Italian striker literally told his teammate to “f*** off.”
