GdS: Predicted XIs for Milan vs. Lecce – Back to the roots for Amorim
Ruben Amorim is expected to make quite a few changes to AC Milan’s starting eleven against Lecce tonight, looking for a reaction from his players.
After five games of struggling to get his team going in the first half, suggesting that he hasn’t got the starting eleven right, Amorim is set to make some big changes tonight. In many ways, you could say that it’s going back to the roots of Milan.
Points-wise, the start to the season hasn’t been a disaster by any means, with eight points collected in the first four games. However, the league leaders Roma are already five points ahead, so a win tonight is definitely needed to keep up.
Six changes planned
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Mario Gila will be back in defence after starting on the bench against Benfica. There will also be three changes in midfield, with Amorim looking to rely on experience with Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modric in the heart of it all.
Samuel Chukwueze should keep his spot to the right, but Davide Bartesaghi is heading for the bench, with Pervis Estupinan (not Diego Moreira) taking his spot. Behind Goncalo Ramos, Alexis Saelemaekers and Christian Pulisic will be given the chance.
In total, we are talking about six changes compared to the mid-week clash, so it’s clear that Amorim is looking for a reaction in front of the home fans.
